Is a Liver Cleansing Diet a Scam or are These Cleansing Diets The Real Deal?

It seems the whole world has gone a little crazy with cleansing diets and, in particular, liver cleansing diets. Most people I’m sure think the same thing that I did – cleansing your liver is good to lose a few pounds but it won’t save your life – well, that’s what I thought until I looked into it a little more.

I underestimated the little liver. It might only weigh 4 pounds but it’s the powerhouse of all metabolic processes. Sound scientific but all that means is that it gets rid of all the rubbish I stick into my body. And what a job that must be. For months on end I have not had time to look after myself and I got more tired, more headaches and put on a few more pounds.

3.      balance blood sugar levels,

4.      activate and deactivate hormones

Impressive? I left the best one until last…

The liver removes toxic pesticides, preservatives, heavy metals, sweeteners and additives from your body. Without these bits of junk your body is alkaline and that means healthy. With them you become acidic and disease ridden. And that’s why cleansing diets and liver cleansing diets are important – they make your body alkaline again.

I avoided liver cleansing diets for a long time. But it became clearer that if I didn’t do a cleansing diet my health would never improve. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know that a cleansing diet is almost mandatory if you have lived on a western diet. It doesn’t have to be hard but the more things you take out of your diet that are acid forming the better your results.

# 1. Avoid aerated drinks, coffee, sugar, chocolate and alcohol.

# 2. Avoid wheat.

# 3. Remove fats and animal proteins.

# 4. Drink a minimum of eight glasses of pure filtered water or low sodium mineral water to flush toxins from your body.

# 5. Exercise.
